Registration:

Race packs can be collected on Saturday 16th of April from the Orewa Surf Club between 2pm-5pm or alternatively on race morning from 6.30 am also from the Surf Club.  Pre purchased Orewa Beach Half Marathon T's must be collected at registration.

Timing:

To keep entry fees down we will not be taking times but will supply a timing clock at the start/finish. The clock will be started at 8 am when the 21km runners/walkers start however for the other distances might we suggest you wear a watch.

Late Entries:

Entries close online friday 15th April 4.30 pm however late registrations on the Saturday and race day will be accepted but will incur a $10.00 admin fee....A refund will NOT be given to those changing to another distance. Entry forms can be obtained from Rodney Engraving 25 Centreway Road Orewa where you can also enter with cash or cheque.

Cancelling your Entry:

Due to administration costs no refund will be given to those who cancel after 20th March 2011.

Event Start: 

At 7.35am there will be a group warm up session for those interested for 10 minutes followed by a compulsary race briefing for ALL competitors. 

**PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS YEAR WE WILL BE STARTING YOU ON THE BEACH IN FRONT OF THE SURF CLUB**

21km run walk and Nordic 8.00am start

10.5km run walk and Nordic 8.15am

5km run walk and Nordic 8.30am

Drink Stations:

We have 2 drink stations out on the course and 1 at the finish/run through area on the beach for those doing the 21km.  We also have a drink station at the finish line for finishers. Please be aware that we only supply WATER at the drink stations.  If you need a special drink be advised to either carry it with you or place it at the drink stations before hand. You might like to get a family member to do this for you or hold it for you.

Toilets and changing rooms:

There are public toilets and changing rooms located beside the surf club with toilets inside the surf club along with extra porta loos in the carpark. In the case of cues there are also public toilets north along the beach beside the kiddies playground.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE TOILETS OR SHOWERS INSIDE THE SURF CLUB ROOMS

Parking:

There is loads of parking in and surrounding the surf club.

Prizegiving:

Spot prizes will be pre drawn and given to competitors at registrations. Podium finishers will be presented with their prizes at a ceremony at approximately 11.30 am or when permissable.

The course:

The course is divided into 2 so for those doing the 21 km you will need to complete the course twice. Starting from the surf club carpark and finishing on the beach. Those doing the 5km will stay on the beach this year and travel from one end to the other before heading back to the finish line in front of the surf club.

MASSAGE:

Massage for tired aching legs will be available for competitors thanks to Kinetics Rehab of Orewa.

First Aid:

We will supply a professional paramedic service with onsite ambulance

Entertainment:

A bouncy castle, merry go round and kruzin kids mini hot rods on the grass reserve opposite the surf club. Also as a very special treat we welcome The ZM Black Thunders who will visit us with giveaways and goodies.

 

Drawing Station:

Bring the kids along to the Drawing Station and let them get creative by making a sign for their favourite competitor. We will supply paper. colour pens, glue and glitter.
